Purpose of wire fencing scheme
Khedut Fencing Yojana 2023 : The wire fencing scheme aims to protect farmers’ crops from wild boars and deer, thereby reducing damage to standing crops by these animals.
Eligibility for Tar Fencing Yojana 2023
Applications from individual farmers or groups of farmers are currently under evaluation. The review process evaluates the information of the farmer or Khedut group, including relevant details about their application form and their bank financial account. In order to proceed with the application form, it is necessary to provide a copy of Aadhaar card along with class 7/12 and class 8A details. These documents are essential requirements.
Benefits of Wire Fencing Scheme
The Yojana provides assistance in 2 installments. During the 1st phase, farmers received Rs. Eligible for up to 50% subsidy. 100 per meter or 50% of the total cost, whichever is less. To get this subsidy, farmers have to install the necessary pillars and pass the verification process. After completion of the project, Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation Limited offers 50% assistance payment for the second phase. Payment is determined on the basis of lower value between Rs. 100 per running meter and 50% of the total cost. It is important to note that payment is made only after receipt of third-party GPS inspection report and location verification.

A group of farmers have decided to actively participate and cooperate in the implementation of the wire fence yojna, as mutually agreed upon. This collaboration reinforces the support provided by the wire fencing scheme.
Specification for wire fencing scheme
For proper installation of piles, excavation measurements should be recorded as 0.40 m in each direction including length, width and depth. Concrete piers used for the scheme shall be 2.40 m in length, 0.10 m in width and height. These piles shall have at least four strands, each not less than 3.50 millimeters in diameter. The distance between two pillars should not be less than 3 meters.
To ensure stability, additional pillars need to be placed every 15 meters on both sides of the fence. These supplementary piles shall have the same dimensions as the primary piles. While making the foundation of pillars, it is necessary to use cement, sand and dark untreated material in the ratio of 1:5:10.
To meet the required specifications, the barbed wire used must have a minimum diameter of 2.50 mm for both line wire and point wire. In addition, the plus-minus ratio should be within 0.08 mm. The barbed wire shall bear double wire marking of ISS and shall be galvanized and coated with GI.
