Launched by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on 26 February 2020, the scheme aims to help women become self-reliant by providing Rs. To empower by giving interest free loan up to 1 lakh. The Chief Minister Mahila Utkarsh Loan Yojana 2020-21 was recently launched on September 17 to provide loans at 0% interest rate to women in both urban and rural areas of the state.

Implementation process of Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana
The Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana MMUY program aims to establish 50,000 JLEGs in urban areas and an additional 50,000 in rural areas. These groups will have 10 women members and will get interest-free loans from the government. The interest cost will be borne by the state government.
Stamp duty charges for loans to women’s groups have been waived by the government. Around 275,000 Sakhi Mandals from rural and urban areas are eligible to benefit from this initiative if they have paid off any outstanding bank loans or other debts. Such sakhi mandals are associated with around 2.7 million women across the state.
